Lyrical posters
Typographic poster series of song lyrics.
The goal of this poster series was to visually express the lyrics and emotions of three songs using only typography, incorporating all the lyrics in each design. Experimental type and design techniques were used to show each song’s unique mood and story.
For the Green Light poster, I used blurring and spiraling typography to represent the cyclical nature of a relationship that feels stuck, always moving but never really starting. Shining effects that mimic headlights represent the fleeting moments and looping thoughts.
The Creep poster expresses the raw emotion of self-degradation and the feeling of being an outsider. To show this, I printed the lyrics and manually ripped and distressed the letters, showing an emotional breakdown that reflects the song’s themes of insecurity and isolation.
For the Diamonds poster, I aimed to capture the euphoric feeling of new love through bold, fluorescent colors and blurring, creating a glowing, dreamlike quality that mirrors the song’s high.
